Defending Hillary Rosen

I think this whole thing has been blown up by the Republicans and has been taken out of context.

Hillary was absolutely right, Anne Romney has no life experience to relate to 99% of American women, so it’s a stretch that she would have valuable advice to give her husband on this subject of the War on Women.

I think millions of  women would love to be able to stay home and raise their children full time like Anne Romney.  Anne Romney stated that she had made the career choice to stay home with her children, but most American women don’t have the luxury of having a choice.  Anne Romney can’t relate to women that are forced to bring in a second income, or single mothers who are forced to work to support their children.

Here is the point I want to make.  Anne Romney is one of the very few (1%) of women in this country that always has a choice.  No matter what she does, in everything, absolutely everything,  she has the luxury of a choice.

I believe that this was the point that Hillary Rosen was trying to make, that’s how I took her statement, and I agree.

I must say that I’m a little disappointed in President Obama on this.  I’m not sure why this issue as been turned into a debate on the value of  stay at home moms.  I think he played right into the Republicans hands and he appeared to me to be pandering a bit to stay at home moms.

President Obama said that we should not bring spouses into the campaign.  Hello!  Mitt Romney is the one bringing his wife into the campaign, he’s quoting her in his stump speeches as his adviser on the War on Women.  I’ve never seen a woman less equipped to advise anyone on the plight of the average American women.

I’m just disappointed that the leaders of the Democratic Party didn’t stand up for Hillary Rosen.  She has worked tirelessly for the Democratic party and their agenda.

I never though I’d say this, but I was proud of Republican Bay Buchanan tonight for defending Hillary and her statements.

Lena C. Taylor, Wisconsin State Senator and Nina Turner, Ohio State SenatorYou have to watch these two wonderful women, Senator Lena Taylor of Wisconsin and Senator Nina Turner of Ohio. Once again the Republicans put Corporations over Women.

This is our call to action women, we need to come together and vote out all Republican that currently holds State or Federal Elected office.  These men are so arrogant they think they can force us to do anything and we will just lie down and take it.  Not in this Country and not in this Century!

Our vote counts, there are more of us then there are of them. Come on women, join us in this life changing effort.

Making It Up Moments

Rachel Maddow does it again, she shows us how Rick Santorum gets up in front of groups of his supporters, and lies, over and over again.  Is this the kind of President you want? Who dreams this stuff up for him?  Where are his advisers?

This seems to be a theme in the Republican Party.  We see it on FOX News, we see it from Mitt Romney (see my earlier post) and we see it from Rick Santorum.

It appears that the Republican party doesn’t think they can win an election by having integrity and telling the truth.  What happened to “The Truth Will Set You Free?”

Why can’t we just have elections and let the American public pick who they want? Why do the Republicans find it necessary to pull any trick they can to slant the vote in their direction?  They have spent the last two years making it harder for long time Democratic voters to vote.  They are so insecure in their own policies that they have to literally take way peoples given right to vote to ensure that they win.  It’s like cheating at cards.

An now, they have spent the last months on the campaign trail saying anything, no matter how untrue, no matter how ridiculous, just to get elected.  The Republicans give pandering a whole new meaning.  Of course, when you are preaching to the “Drink the Kool-Aide” crowd, they believe anything, no matter how untrue or how ridiculous.

On another subject though, you must admit, it takes a lot of guts for someone who was thrown out of office in his home state by a landslide vote to even think about running for President.  If his own state doesn’t want him, why would he imagine that the rest of us would?

This is crazy, who does something like this to a sitting President? Obviously someone with no class, no conscience and no integrity.

You have to vote your conscience, do you want to support a party that does something like this?  Does this type of behavior represent something that you want in your President?

 Per my.democrats.org:

“One of the leading GOP candidates put out a vicious attack ad this week that hits a new low as far as campaign ads go—and if you blink, you just may just miss it.

It’s meant to terrify people, and if we don’t fight back, it could work.

Watch the part we’re talking about, then send the GOP a message that we’re not going to take it.”
